Let the wind blow

Let the Wind Blow
Spring and Summer are finally here! That means lazy days… Good grilled food… And lake time… Whether in the summer or wintertime at the lake, we love to build a nice fire.
Fire is inviting. It’s warm. It’s mesmerizing… People are attracted to it and like to gather around it. It jumps and moves and crackles and pops. It’s many different colors, and the same color all at once… Fire has the power to ignite. The power to purify. The power to consume…
Fire is catching… Especially to something that is easily combustible. Our nation, and our world for that matter, have been on edge for quite some time. That makes everyone of us easily combustible, whether for good or evil…
In scripture, fire represents the Holy Spirit. He moves among us, in us, and through us. If we allow Him, He will consume us. We will burn for God from the inside out! Those who see us burning will be attracted to our fire, and we can tell them about Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
But what if they don’t see us burning? What if we aren’t where we need to be in our Christian walk, and they don’t see our light shining? What if we’re keeping our light hidden? What if the church as a whole hasn’t been on fire for God, burning bright enough to draw the lost to Him? Well then… Those who don’t know God and have Him burning inside of them will create their own fire…the fire of the enemy. The fire of evil, hate, and destruction. The enemy is using literal fire to spread evil and division and darkness in our streets. He’s wreaking havoc and disunity… Riots are ongoing in small towns and major cities across America.
When God delivered the Israelites from Egypt, He guided them as a cloud by day, and a pillar of fire by night. “By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.” – Exodus 13:21. Lord, may You be our cloud of protection, and our Guiding Light!
Once the Israelites got to the Red Sea, “…the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land…” – Exodus 14:21. (In The Bible, wind also represents the Holy Spirit.) They could then cross on dry ground. The Egyptians continued chasing after them, but “At morning watch, however, the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians from the pillar of fire and cloud, and He threw their camp into confusion.” – Exodus 14:24. God, may You cause confusion in the enemy’s camp!!!
Let’s use our Holy Spirit fire for good. To guide. To attract. To unify. To show others, without a doubt, Who we stand for. In this critical hour, may we not shrink back and be silent! We must cry out to God! We need to release our sound so the walls will come tumbling down! We need to pray for the Holy Spirit wind to blow… May He be the oxygen to fuel our cries! May He be the wind that fans the flames of God within us! May He blow across our nation and to the ends of the earth!
We, as Christians, need to lead the charge, stand up for what’s right, speak out against the hate, and rebuke the evil…sending it back to hell where it came from! We must fight fire with FIRE! May the fire within us burn hotter and brighter than the enemy’s, and may our fire consume and extinguish the fires of evil! Lord, we seek Your Face. We seek You so earnestly that revival will again break out over the earth! In Jesus’ Name!!!
“Let the wind blow! Let the tide roll! Till the earth knows… You’re a God of love. Let my dry bones… Sing a new song. All the glory… To the God of love.
Revival’s in the air! Well catch it if you can! He’s moving on the wind! The dawn is breaking! Oh lift your eyes to see! He’s better than you dreamed! With everything you lost… Love’s returning…” – Revival’s In The Air, Bethel Music, Melissa Helser
